Rapid Response Team Needed
REDISTRICTING SPECIAL SESSION - April 20-24, 2026
Governor DeSantis has called a special session on April 20 to redraw congressional maps mid-decade — a move that breaks with long-standing democratic norms and violates Florida’s Fair Districts Amendments, which prohibit partisan gerrymandering.
When the special session begins, we will urgently need a strong public presence to fill committee rooms and demonstrate visible opposition. If you’re willing to attend, we’ll make sure you have all the details about when and where to be.

Mondays, 6:30pm -8:00pm and Wednesdays, 5:30pm-7pm
Take an easy step from home: phone bank this month to oppose mid-decade redistricting during the April 20–24 Special Session. Tell elected officials to keep their hands off our votes. Our rally was a rousing success
8500-10,000 protesters showed up to proclaim No Kings, no thrones, no regime.
In the largest-ever Indivisible protest in Tallahassee, we joined nearly 8 million protesters across the U.S.and the world.
Thank you for showing up on such a complicated local day that included the Springtime Tallahassee festival and parade.
Thank you to those who spoke and made music in our program. And thank you to Indivisible Tallahassee organizers for such a successful, focused event.

Safety Marshal Training
SAFETY MARSHALS NEEDED! One of the best ways you can support upcoming demonstrations and resistance work in our community is to become a Safety Marshal. We believe that trained community Safety Marshals are one of our greatest contributions to effective nonviolent action for peace and justice. Participants in these Safety Marshal Trainings will learn nonviolent de-escalation techniques for effective and safe demonstrations. After successfully completing the training, volunteers can choose to assist with safety marshal work at a variety of demonstrations, marches and other events being held in the Big Bend area. We hope you’ll consider becoming one!

POSTCARDS TO LEON VOTERS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED!
Our first batch of 5,000 voter postcards are printed, and thanks to donated stamps, we’re ready to start writing! This first round features a new two-sided design, with the mailing and writing space conveniently on the back. This is a comfortable work-at-home project.
TO REQUEST POSTCARDS:
- Email postcardspolitics@gmail.com
- Request how many cards you want to write, in increments of 25;
- Pick up cards from either 1) organizer's porch, or 2) Postcards + Politics' twice-monthly postcard parties. Details are given when you first request cards;
- Write and address unstamped postcards (scripts and voter addresses will be emailed to you);
- Return completed postcards to organizer, per email agreement as to which location.
When you return the completed cards, we'll then stamp them and hold them to mail en masse on a certain date before the August Florida Primary.
Postcards to Leon Voters is being organized by Indivisible Big Bend FL (IBBF), and is distinct from the in-person Postcard + Politics gatherings.

Our excellent SOE and SOE office serve Leon voters and their site is chock full of voter, election and candidate information.

Here are some important dates from their site:
Primary Election 2026
- Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to UOCAVA voters: July 4, 2026
- Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters: July 9 – 16, 2026
- Deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation: July 20, 2026
- Deadline to request that ballot be mailed: August 6, 2026
- Early voting period (mandatory period): August 8 – 15, 2026
(Contact Supervisor of Elections for optional days of early voting) - Election Day: August 18, 2026
General Election 2026
- Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to UOCAVA voters: September 19, 2026

We encourage the use of mail ballots. These must be requested again in every election cycle. Complete them at home and deliver them to special dedicated Drop Boxes at every Early Voting Site, during voting hours. Check the SOE website for Early Voting site locations.
