we need you at silent protests at the capitol!

Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Mar. 3, 4, 10, and 11

This is our last month of Silent Protest!

Join us in  the last two weeks of the Florida legislative session as we stand in  silent witness—inside the Florida Capitol—holding signs so our elected  leaders are confronted with the inhumanity of ICE. Floridians demand  just, moral policies and humane treatment for our immigrant neighbors.  Choose a date and time that works for you. No signs needed. Sign up here.

SPECIAL SESSION ALERT: NO PARTISAN MAPS

Rapid Response Team Needed

 SPECIAL SESSION ALERT

Rapid Response Team Needed

Governor DeSantis has called a special session on April 20 to redraw congressional maps mid-decade — a move that breaks with  long-standing democratic norms and violates Florida’s Fair Districts  Amendments, which prohibit partisan gerrymandering.

When the special session begins, we will urgently need a strong public  presence to fill committee rooms and demonstrate visible opposition. If  you’re willing to attend, we’ll make sure you have all the details about  when and where to be.

You do not have to speak to make a  difference. Simply showing up matters. You can also submit a card  stating your opposition without speaking — and every card submitted  strengthens our collective voice.

To join, email us IndivisibleTLH@gmail.com with “Add me to the legislative team list” in the subject line.

Safety Marshal Training

SAFETY MARSHALS  NEEDED!  One of the best ways you can support upcoming  demonstrations and resistance work in our community is to become a  Safety Marshal.  We believe that trained community Safety Marshals are  one of our greatest contributions to effective nonviolent action for  peace and justice. Participants in these Safety Marshal Trainings will  learn nonviolent de-escalation techniques for effective and safe  demonstrations. After successfully completing the training, volunteers  can choose to assist with safety marshal work at a variety of  demonstrations, marches and other events being held in the Big Bend  area. We hope you’ll consider becoming one!

Postcards + Politics runs on your donations!

Donations make our ongoing postcard activism possible

Since 2017, Postcards + Politics has mailed more than 200,000 self-funded postcards to legislators, members of Congress, the president, corporate & media CEOs and advertisers.

In 2026, we find costs rising for our cards and stamps and seek everyone's help to sustain our incredible momentum!

Indivisible Big Bend FL focuses on voter information 2026

This is our voter projects group

Each of  our affiliated local Indivisible chapters focuses on different pro-democracy actions. In this critical election year, Indivisible Big Bend FL will work on a number of projects to be sure that Leon voters are ready to vote. Republicans and MAGA are making it more and more difficult to vote and it's up to all of us to be informed and ready to push through their obstructions and distractions.

We will be running a voter postcard project and writing cards from early April to late July, ahead of the FL Primary in August. We are fundraising for the funds to print special local postcards and buy postcard stamps (whose costs keep rising, capriciously, due to Trump's postmaster general). We'll be alerting voters to a possible Florida version of the SAVE Act our Legislature is working on -- whose passage will disenfranchise voters who use any name not on their birth certificate (will especially impact female voters who change names when they marry). And producing an information sheet with important rules and dates affecting our voting, which we will print as a handout and put online. In our busy lives, it's hard to keep up with all of the roadblocks and rules re: voting, from registration to voting dates to required ID. We'll try to make it easy to grasp and hold onto. When we vote, we win.

concrete actions you can do every day

Phone calls, emails, faxes, postcards are resistance actions

Read down to find apps and links that help you resist what Trump, Musk, MAGA, and the Republican supermajority are doing to destroy our democracy and establish an authoritarian oligarchy.

Indivisible app: Empower

The fight against MAGA extremists has never been more  urgent—but we’re not in this alone. Real change starts with the  conversations we have with people we already know.

With the Empower app, you’ll have everything you need to mobilize your friends, family, and community to take action—whether it’s turning out voters, holding leaders accountable, or organizing for key moments.Link to join:  https://indivisible.org/campaign/empower

Use the Empower app to harness the power of relational organizing—grow  your group, mobilize your community, and make a bigger impact TOGETHER!

Phone call app: 5 Calls

5 Calls is the easiest and most effective way for U.S. constituents to make a political impact. Make your voice heard!

Once your congressperson forms a public stance on an issue, it’s hard for them to walk it back. The earlier they hear your opinion, the more likely it is you’ll make an impact.

Calling is by far the most effective way to ensure that your representative hears you before they take  a public stance.

FAX app: Resistbot

Link to join:  https://resist.bot/

Contact all of your officials at once.

Resistbot is a chatbot that turns your texts into faxes, postal mail, or emails to your representatives in minutes.

The easiest way to be heard! Send the word resist to Resistbot on Apple Messages, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, or by text to 50409 and answer the questions texted back. In minutes, you’ll have contacted Congress or your other elected officials. Make your letter open for maximum effect.
