SAY NO TO MID-DECADE REDISTRICTING
IMPORTANT CALLS TO ACTION FOR ALL FLORIDIANS
Tuesday, December 2nd AND Thursday, December 4th AND Wednesday, December 10
The Issue:
The President has openly urged states to gerrymander districts to benefit Republicans. But Floridians overwhelmingly banned partisan map-drawing when we passed the Fair Districts Amendments. Any attempt to redraw voting maps before the next election would directly follow the President's call — and it is flat-out illegal under Florida’s Constitution.
What's Happened:
This week, the Florida House quietly scheduled the first meeting of its
Congressional Redistricting Select Committee for Dec. 4 — a clear signal that new, unlawful maps may be coming. As if the current map weren’t bad enough.
Our Response:
Indivisible Tallahassee is joining partners from across the state for three days of action at the Florida Capitol. We need every Floridian to attend and fight back on illegal partisan gerrymandering!
TAKING ACTION:
- Tues, Dec 2nd @ 11 am. Press conference at the Florida State Capitol: HANDS OFF OUR MAPS! If you can’t attend, we’ll send instructions for a digital action you can take from home. Request this by email: IndivisibleTLH@gmail.com
- Thurs, Dec 4th, 1:00-4:00 pm. Attend the Committee Hearing at Reed Hall, 102 House Office Bldg. We will provide talking points to those wishing to speak. Register HERE to join us on December 4th: https://tinyurl.com/no-redistricting
- Wed, Dec 10th, 8:30-11:30 am. Second Scheduled Committee Hearing: Location to be provided once released.
Why It Matters:
A partisan, mid-decade redraw would silence Black, Brown, and working-class communities across Florida — undermining fair representation in the 2026 and 2028 elections.

SAFETY MARSHAL TRAINING
SAFETY MARSHALS NEEDED! One of the best ways you can support upcoming demonstrations and resistance work in our community is to become a Safety Marshal. We believe that trained community Safety Marshals are one of our greatest contributions to effective nonviolent action for peace and justice. Participants in these Safety Marshal Trainings will learn nonviolent de-escalation techniques for effective and safe demonstrations. After successfully completing the training, volunteers can choose to assist with safety marshal work at a variety of demonstrations, marches and other events being held in the Big Bend area. We hope you’ll consider becoming one!
There are 2 training sessions: One will be on at 6 pm on Wed, Nov 12th and the other on Wed, Jan 14, 6-8:30 pm . Please sign up for the session you'd like to attend.

On Oct 18, No Kings Tallahassee saw 7500 demonstrators at the FL Capitol. We work with the national Indivisible movement and a coalition of local organizations to help coordinate the moving parts of a mass action.
We are listening for the call for future actions and will inform you quickly when the call comes.
